There seems to be a common theme on this subreddit that you shouldn't buy a house with anyone but a spouse. I've seen that expressed in comments, not in the Wiki sidebar. I was interested in hearing this community's take on a possible exception to that rule.
I have friends in the Seattle area (an unmarried/unengaged dating couple) that are thinking about buying a house together, possibly through a local company called CoBuy. The idea behind the company is to make buying houses easier for friends, unmarried couples, and multi-generational family members—thus not limiting the housing market to married couples.
I was wondering if anyone had heard of their model of buying houses, could explain to me (like I'm 5) how it's different from the usual process of buying houses, and if I should advise my friends to pursue it.
Thanks!
