So far, money saving things I've printed: Brake light stopper (7$ oem) Double edge razor and brush hanging mount (4$) 2L Watering attachment(10$ on a watering can) Usb/sd holder (2$) Arduino cases (6$) Hive game replica (20$)
It cost $250 with some extra parts. If I need something custom, or something that works quickly, I'll print instead of buy if I can. 3d printing helps with my other frugal efforts it seems but has not paid off yet. Either way it just started as a hobby.
