Apologies if this is a common inquiry, I did a quick search and didn't find anything.
I started investing just over a year ago, I was doing it myself and I did okay but still lagged the S&P500. Ultimately I found that it was too stressful and decided to move a chunk of my money into a Wealthsimple account.
I did some research but clearly not enough, as I knew the market allocation but didn't closely see that some of the ETF's were traded on US markets and therefore in USD.
The Canadian exchange rate right now is not good and I ended up losing over $5,000 in currency exchange. My inquiry is, should I be concerned with the currency exchange rate at present? Or is this one of those things that over time with market fluctuation and a balanced portfolio sort of becomes a wash?
Any feedback would be appreciated.
