Since the post I made got some attention, I thought I'd update you all and say that I went to Warby Parker yesterday. I hate interacting with sales associates and the people in the store left me alone until I found the glasses I wanted. The two that I did interact with were very friendly, and they didn't try to up-sale me with any sort of special lens coating or anything like that. The reason I went with Warby Parker is because I read online how laid back their sales associates were and because my insurance is going to cover the full cost of these glasses. The glasses at the optometrist that I went too originally were far outside the price range of what my insurance would cover so I was glad to find a place that I could go to and see the glasses they had to offer without being pressured to buy anything extra--which is what the optometrist tried to do. If I need glasses in the future that aren't covered by my insurance, I will definitely look at all the options you guys recommended. Thanks again! Also, since my last post made it to /r/hailcorporate, I don't work for Warby Parker or any marketing company. I'm just a dude with crappy insurance from my crappy job.
