I want to buy my wife an iPhone x and I am considering to go for T-Mobile BOGO deal. If you buy an iPhone x you get $700 as rebate. You have to buy the second phone at retail price to receive the rebate. You also need to send them an eligible smartphone.
I have below frugal issues. 1) My iPhone 6 is good and I was planning to use it for 2 more years. They will pay me $45 for the phone. And with $700 credit, I could buy an iPhone 8. 2) I will pretty much be paying $80 per month for 2 lines (if I add 2 more to get the T-Mobile One discounts) for next 2 years on top of monthly $30 towards iPhone X. I currently pay $60 on Cricket Wireless for two lines. 3) T-Mobile also gives you free Netflix. Plus they have the Tuesday deals although I feel like you may be compelled to use them even if you don't need it. 4) I must buy iPhone X. No compromise there.
I truly want to become frugal but this deal want me to buy phone from T-Mobile.
TLDR: Too good deal for a frugal.
