Just thought I'd share my experience in case anyone else was curious about the curbside pickup available at some grocery chains. So, for awhile the $5 convenience fee was a non starter for me. However, one weekend I just ran out of time and thought screw it, I'll give it a try. Immediately I saw the benefit. It was much easier for me to compare the cost of items, and more importantly I was able to see what my total bill was before checking out. On average I would spend $120-150 per week on my wife and me for groceries. For the last month I have used the curbside pick up I have been able to keep my bill under $100 each time. To me it is much easier to see how buying that expensive steak is going to mess up my budget, and to lean towards a more budget friendly option.
So after one month I had basically saved $100, and that was without cutting back on food. I am curious if anyone else has had similar experiences, or maybe some pros or cons to share?
