Hi all,

I am trying to be frugal but there are still times that I want to buy a couple of ‘want’ items. For example; games, take out, etc

I had the idea of calculating a monthly budget and if I am under at the end of the month I can spend the remaining money on impulse items that I want to get.

I thought this would also help with the idea that by the end of the month, most of my impulse ‘want’ items will no longer be of interest to me. And will ensure I don’t get into the situation where I’m suddenly over budget before the month ends.

Do you think this is a good idea? And what methods do you guys employe to prevent over-spending on frivolous things?

Thanks :)
