Yup, a bag thread. Hear me out!
I don't carry enough stuff to justify lugging around what would be considered a 'small' messenger bag. I already own a leather Muzetto by Waterfield Designs in Small. It's only the size of an iPad, and even that is too big for my needs.
What I want is a bag to hold my kindle and smartphone. That's all. Since the kindle (4.6" x 6.7") is the largest object, the bag shouldn't be much bigger. Those devices must be easily accessible, not behind a zipper, and no velcro please. I'm strongly averse to visible branding, but don't weigh that too heavily because a conspicuous label could be easy to remove, unlike little tags sewn into a seam. Money is no object!
I'm open to suggestions for an entirely different type of bag, but here are two I'm considering:
Timbuk2 Pip Crossbody – 5.9" X 7.9" X 1.6"
Fjallraven Pocket – 5.5" x 7.1" X 1.2"
Each of those bags has a rear pocket that's the perfect size to slip a kindle into, and a cell phone pocket which can be accessed by simply lifting the flap. No velcro or zippers on either, and the dimensions are just big enough for a kindle. Either of those bags would suit my needs, but I think the front pocket on the Timbuk2 bag would sway me towards it. *Welp, just noticed that the rear pocket on the Fjallraven bag has a zipper.
However, neither of these brands are BIFL quality (custom isn't an option for the Timbuk2 one). So does anyone know of a product by a reputable brand that would serve me just as well?
Thanks for your help, BIFL!
