I just moved to the UK, where I work from home. My feet are always cold. I brought 4 pair of really warm socks with me - all knitted on the outside, one fleece-lined.
3 months later, all 4 pair have holes in the heels. I did read the socks thread, but most people were talking about socks to wear inside shoes - and I'm looking for socks that are very warm, but also abrasion-resistant (because I pace around in them a lot). Thick is fine. Non-skid bits on the bottom are a bonus.
Slipper socks, with the reinforced soles, would probably be a good solution, but so many of the reviews I read talked about the stitching that holds the soles on failing.
Any suggestions?
