So I have a physics project where I have to make a functioning model of something and I have to demonstrate it to the class. I'm pretty set on making a potato gun, and my physics teacher said it's never been done before. I have an idea as to what materials should be needed. However, I'm in a bit of a dilemma in regards to the fuel. Hairspray seems kinda lackluster, and I want something with a bit more kick, so I was thinking about using acetylene gas. However, due to the much more rapid expansion speed of acetylene gas, I'm not sure as to what piping material I should use. Normally, schedule 40 PVC is recommended for a standard spud gun. However, would schedule 80 PVC be strong enough if I were to use acetylene gas, or would I have to use steel instead? via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2GiGhpl
