We are going through a bit of financial hardship at the moment as both of my kids are under 4 and not in school, one of us isn't working until at least the fall. I have a good friend who is getting married, and I don't think I can afford a $200 cash gift. Would giving a $100 cash gift look better than a $100 item gift, or is that tacky? Ideas?
Edit - We also need to get a babysitter for the night and a hotel that night as it’s not close to home. It’s a cash bar not an open bar. Shall be an expensive evening.
