I read the sidebar and I'd like to send some letters requesting a "goodwill adjustment". But I'm not sure if I should. First, here are the delinquency details on the accounts in question:

Card A was 30 days late in June 2017.

Card B was 30 days late in April 2017.

My mortgage was 30 days late in April, May, and September of 2016.

First, is it too soon to ask about the credit cards? It hasn't even been a year of good payments yet.

Second, this only reflects the 30-days-late payments. I have made many late payments on these accounts. Just usually a few days or a week late. I know that will continue to happen sometimes. But I'd still like to improve my credit score. These are my only delinquincies in 14 active years as a borrower. Letting it go that far is not the norm for me and I do feel confident that it won't be happening anymore.

Anyway, would it be disingenuous of me to ask for a goodwill adjustment when I have so many late-but-not-delinquent payments, and expect more? Or do these companies generally not even care about that? They just make more money off of late payment fees, and as long as it doesn't go past 30 days it's no skin off their backs?
