With no health insurance my disabilities would cost 2000 a month to treat. If I use my company’s health insurance I’d need a second part time job- 65 hours a week working and 1300 income left a month after paying for 700 a month in healthcare. If I work 30 hours a week at my job, I qualify for government funded health insurance. No copay no deductible, everything free. 30 hours a week leaving me with time for therapy, physical therapy, getting all my meds, getting hobbies reading books and relaxing. And I’d have the exact same amount of income once healthcare is taken into account. I’ve realized that working less is the solution. I feel guilty about it. Very guilty. But this is a survival situation.
