My husband and I will be taking our three sons from Ohio to Idaho around Labor Day weekend. My brother in law is getting married in Sun Valley... which is a super pricey area. We are staying in an Air BnB that will sleep all 5 of us for $130 a night. It has a full kitchen, so I figured that will help us save money on meals.
This will be the first time our kids have traveled a long distance (They will be 10, 7, and 5 at the time) so we do not want to drive straight through. Any other tips on how to save money for gas, traveling, hotel room along the way, etc? We will have to rent a van as there is NO way I will travel the 29 hours in our two door daily driver.
I appreciate any and all advice
