Hey PF, I’m moving to Bellevue, Seattle for work in June. I’m graduating May so this is going to be my first big boy job.
I’m making $100k base, with benefits. I want to max out my 401k and Roth IRA, and have a decent chunk left over for investing in a taxable account (after filling out my emergency fund of 15k). I’ve also got student loan payments of $400/month.
I’ve been looking at a few 1 bedroom apartments, and they’re all in the $1600 - $2600 range. I previously wanted to get a place with a few people I know, but that fell through and I really want to avoid living with people I don’t know if I can help it.
Do you think I can afford it?
