Anybody else use Arcadia Power? I just started a few months ago after getting a sign up bonus (free Google Home Mini +$5 off next power bill for each friend I recommended who also signed up).
Essentially the way the free model works is Arcadia pays your electric bill, you reimburse Arcadia (exact same amount as the electric bill). Arcadia can then apply for tax credits for buying/using renewable energy sources, which is how they make their money off the free model.
For me, the benefit besides the referral bonus ($5 for each referral signing up for free service, $25 for premium sign ups) and free Google Home Mini at sign up, is the fact that 50% of my energy is coming from renewable sources (I understand how the renewable energy credits work and my power isn't coming directly from those sources, etc), and I can pay my electric bill with a CC now with no fee and get the points, which is nice.
Juts posting here because when I first heard about them I figured there was a catch somewhere, but they have been legit so far. Full disclosure: the service isn't available in all areas, and there are paid premium options, but the free option has been working well for me.
