So I've been a customer with Charter's Spectrum internet for a year for just their internet that was advertised for 100 Mbps for $40/mo. They've forcibly just hiked their prices on me increasing my bill $15/mo and providing me with 250 Mbps. However, this increase in speed is not needed nor wanted for how I use my internet and I requested to be downgraded back to my original plan and they stated that my current plan is the lowest plan I can get as an existing customer.

I checked shortly after on their website and they offer the original plan I had of 100 Mbps except for $45. After witnessing this I called them back and they stated this is for new customers only. So I tried playing the game of bringing my business elsewhere if they are unwilling to lower my rates (which they still weren't compliant with my effort). Unfortunately, the only other player for cable here offers 25 Mbps and I'm kind of worried that is too low of an internet speed for use.

This is pretty unethical to increase my rates as a loyal customer for Spectrum and them having the ability to give me my old plan and unwilling to compromise. Is there any way you guys have dealt with conniving cable companies and them lowering your bill?
