I was trying to drill from inside my unfinished attic on the gable end of my 1950's brick home(built in Mid-Atlantic USA), to run some network cable. I was surveying from the ground outside, midway through the work and realized, I MIGHT have drilled into the fireplace chimney. I drilled a 1/4" dia, approx. 10inch deep hole, but it never felt like I had pierced through.
