I'm new to personal finance in general and outside of using credit cards and obtaining loans, there isn't much in the finance world that I know of. Please contribute to the discussion so I may learn more.
A couple that are absolutely NO's
Timeshares - why are these so bad?
Payday loan -
Giving your Bank information to a collections agency
Lending family and friends money - If you are going to lend money, GIVE it to them and don't expect it back!
No Unless your life depends on it:
Home equity loan (?)
Keeping a credit card balance
401K Loans (?)
Whole life insurance - read the wiki on life insurance
co-signing loans - this could lead to some bad relationships.... be careful! Nobody co-signs a loan thinking they are going to get screwed in any situation.
What are some others that someone should never get into?
