The security mess-up mentioned in the Chase topic reminded me that Wells Fargo almost made me a $2500 money order from someone else’s account and I only caught it because of idle chit chat.

I went to Wells Fargo to make a money order, and at the end of the process, the teller says “I have a sister who married a Kristensen.” At first I thought, “Wow that’s some useless info right there.” That name meant nothing to me.

Then, right as I’m about to take the money order, I think to ask what name it shows on my account.

Long story short, they were about to hand me $2500 out of someone else’s account and they would have had no idea what happened until that person complained.
