Long story short grew up poor and was obsessed with 'newness''. I always thought having something that's 'old' is a bad thing. Still a hard habit to break.

But to get to the point, I've realized that since I've been in a better financial position...none of that is true. Getting rid of something just because it's old is very wasteful.

For example, the HomePod just came out...and I sort of want it. But I had to talk myself out of it. Mainly because I got a free Sonos Play:3 and barely use it. What I did yesterday instead of getting the homePod was take my Sonos out of the closet and set it up. My apartment is less than 500sqft .

Ever since I've had an income increase, I realized that my solutions lately have been to ''buy X new thing'' but when I was poor I was a lot more creative to my solutions.
