I'm in North Texas; we have 30 degree weather for about 2 months out of the year. So blankets spend more time in storage than use, honestly. I wasn't sure if wool or cotton would be better, since it's so warm up here.
Really I'd love something that can be machine-washed in a small washer, too. I've got a couple of great cavorting king-sized comforters, and not only do they just smell after being stored forever, I have to have them laundered because they won't fit in my washer. One of them is about 20 years old so it's fallen apart (been great, but not repairable, and it was...abused...through college).
