[Request] Any experience with these LL Bean items?

They both look great and have a good price. But I don't love the buckles on the signature - it seems cumbersome in a hurry. The Heritage meets all my desires but there are numerous poor reviews about the strap failing, and I was wondering if anyone has purchased one in the last year since they have allegedly fixed their quality issues?
