Hi r/frugal,

Im going to be traveling internationally later this year and decided it's time to finally get a credit card for consumer protection while overseas. I'm 27 and financially healthy, but have never gotten a credit card before.

Would anyone have any good cc recs? The odd thing is- I pay cash for most my purchases at home, so I'm not concerned about rewards. Just want a solid card from a company with good customer service.

I've tried searching around but couldn't find any other posts from others who don't care about rewards as well.

Also if it factors in- the only credit building I've ever done was paying off my student loans a while back.

Many thanks for any advice!
