Hi,I am after some advice about how to raise my garage floor to make better use out of it. There's currently about a 200mm drop from the kitchen in to the garage, I want to make them level in height. The current concrete floor isn't anywhere close to level. There's roughly a 40mm difference from left to right (as you look at the garage). I've not really managed find a huge amount of information, so I've came up with the 2 idea's below. I assume for each one i'd seal the conrete and put down a damp proof layer.1.http://ift.tt/2EDWrbK would create a frame, which would be made of beams, to create squares, 60mm x 60mm. Have this on stands to hold it up. I would then cover it with chipboard. I could get some leveling braces (not sure of the actual name of them) to make sure my floor is level and cut legs to the right size to take the weight of the floor and account for base level differences.2.http://ift.tt/2FdMNxE some wood beams which are 140mm, on their size, covered by 2 lots of chipboard for the shortfall. Under this, I would have to put down self levelling compount, to get the floor flat. The disadvantage of this, is I would need a lot of compound.I'm just curious to know if I'm on the right lines, or way off base? Any information or tips would be great.Sorry if images aren't allowed, still very new to reddit. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2ByA4pL
