I searched for this and not much came up. We are hopefully having our first child in August and recently found out that daycare will run us $260-330/week. We both plan to continue working full time since our salaries do outpace the cost. I understand there's an income tax deduction of $5000, is there anything else I can do in terms of financial planning to ease the cost? Neither my husband or my job offer a dependent care FSA, are there any other tax advantaged options?
In general, any other financial planning tips for having a kiddo? I'm opening a 529 and we're planning to get most clothing and equipment second hand.
