I have what I think is a simple network cabling job for a finished house. I have never done this before, so I'd be interested in any tips, tools, advice anyone can give.See picture: http://ift.tt/2GG623y office network stack is in the corner of my office - labelled Living Room. My goal is to run cable for a couple of access points.I'd like to punch through the drywall from the office into the garage (also finished with drywall). I don't want the cable unsecured in the garage, so I thought I could use some kind of low profile conduit there. The conduit would run up to the ceiling of the garage, take a 90 deg turn and run along the ceiling to the back.I would then re-enter the house at the back of the garage into the closet, and from there try to go through the ceiling to the desired location where i would mount my wireless A/P.As far as I can tell the joists in the ceiling run horizontal across the image.Questions:What do you seal the holes in the garage with to ensure nothing can get through? What would be a good product for conduit in the garage to make sure the cable is secure?Do I need plenum cable or is it advisable?Anything else? The other A/P will be deployed on the 2nd floor pretty much right above where the 1st floor AP will be. I plan to access the "north" wall of the office from the attic/crawl space as there is nothing above the office - it's open up to the 2nd floor. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2DUmi3b
