Hey there,im looking to make a little project for some time and finally have actually the time to do it.Heres the idea: Having a long distance relationship with my girlfriend of 3 years and that wont change for at least for another 1,5 years.Being somewhat tech savy (programmer) and finding myself having a couple of raspberry pi's i came up with the idea of a long distance touch light.Heres how it will work: Person A touches the light cube and right at that moment the light of person B's cube will go on as long as person A touches it.Ive got the tech behind it all done with a raspberry pi each. Now comes the hard part (for me). I want to build an actual case for the light (right now its just a pi with a led circle connected to it which goes on with the touch signal of the other pi)Whats in my mind: something like this. The "send a signal on touch part" is already figured out and at this point i just need to find this material and where I can get it (the best would be to buy it directly in cube-form, but im ok with just planes as well). So im basically looking for a semi transparent or semi translucent colored plastic, which "feels" good in hands and the led light will hopefully come out nicely.Im kinda lost. any idea on where i could get it (im in europe). Or maybe what to search for in order to find that material? i cant find anything basically.Cheers! via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2BQBWqb
