For context: I’m a 22 y/o who graduated college last may. I’m currently working two jobs, one full time, and my dream is to move to NYC where all my college friends are currently situated. Apartment hunting has been hard, in part because there are a ton of bots out there and also because New York is expensive AF. But the other day I came across a room for rent in a good neighborhood in crown heights for $750 a month, which I’m pretty sure is not bad for the location. The problem is that even with my two jobs, I only have about $7000 saved right now (student loans are a bitch) so if I were to deposits first and last month, I’d be dropping 20% of my money on just the first month. Though I’ve been looking, I don’t currently have a job lined up in NY and would probably be relying on my savings for at least the first week. Overall, this feels like a bad idea, but this is the best deal that I’ve seen in a while (or at least the best deal from a real person). Should I go for it
