Hello, everyone! So, my wife called me, freaking out that the ground was coming up and popping really loudly. Freaked, I had her call 911 in case this was either electrical or water. Before I could get home from work, the fire department showed up and broke a piece off of the tile to verify the foundation wasn't collapsing. Once they checked, they explained to my wife that it could just be a faulty tile installation and that she'd be fine. They left before I arrived.Once I got home, I checked as much as I could under the broken tile and all around the outside of the home. There's no visible cracking under the tile or on the outside edge of the foundation. I have no idea what the heck is going on or why. Ok, I may know a bit, but I'm a complete noob in this field. Before I add more details, here are some pics of the damage.http://ift.tt/2EVRjkf last picture is after the fire department cut a piece off to check underneath. The house was built in 2010 and I'm the second owner. The location of the house is in south Texas, USA and is sitting in a rather flat area - no hills or valleys. So, here's my theory: water erosion from the front of the house caused the foundation to dip/descend/fall. Here's a picture explaining my theory.http://ift.tt/2EjZUvY it rains, the water collects from both sides of the roof and come down right where the blue circle is in the picture. The water was falling right onto dirt and I'm assuming it had been that way since the house was built. Within the first month, I installed a gutter to guide the water onto the driveway, but I guess the damage was done (assuming this is the cause).I've called our insurance and they will be sending someone out tomorrow, but I like to get ahead of the curve as much as possible. Any advice or guidance is highly appreciated. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2EUKIql
