Hi guys, I believe this may have been posted before, sorry if so. I was doing some research on the best way to turn my ~$200 in coins into cash. Coinstar, as you may or may not know charges around 10-12% of the total exchange. This can be bypassed by getting gift cards through certain companies (amazon, grocery stores, etc...) This is awesome, if you use money towards those companies. However, I don't need that much on a card like that.
What I did was call local credit unions (could work for banks too, but I believe they are usually higher.) and I found one right near me (Mechanics Bank) that has this deal: First $20 in change is free. Everything else after that is only a 1.5% fee for using it! It's even lower if you're a member (I think it was 1%.)
This saved me a decent chunk of change and I was able to get the cash I needed ASAP while saving me time spending hours rolling these all into sleeves.
Just a friendly tip, hopefully others may find this useful and his isn't a redundant post.
EDIT - And again, this is just an easy, less time consuming way of converting these coins. It is by no means the best, that is all!
