reads 10-K "Oh I get it" invests a certain amount of money in this company, all because they found some footnote that told them this company was worth it

I'm not necessarily convinced that I know what the hell I'm doing reading a 10-K. So can we please discuss how to read a 10-K in a way that gets pertinent information that helps me be a better investor? Because I'm so lost reading this shit like I really don't know what I should look for other than how much cash they have in the bank, how much debt they have, what management thinks about the company's risk factors for that year's filing, etc. I don't know how to interpret that into something that my money should be doing.
