I have several collections accounts that simply disappeared from my credit report.

It has been only a few years, less than 7.

No payment has been made on any of the accounts.

I haven’t contacted the collections agency because if it was mistakenly removed I don’t want them to correct the error.
If the debt was resold to another creditor, how soon would it reappear on my credit report?
If it was removed because the creditor gave up on repayment, how does this affect my credit?
