I just found out I can get Microsoft Office Professional Plus for $10 a year through my employer, just had to verify my employee email address. That's a really good price for some good software. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote plus Outlook, Publisher, Access, InfoPath and Lync are included as per the documentation. I know some colleges will give it to you for free.
