I am building a cajon box with fixed drum snare wires.Video, listen to the annoying buzz: http://ift.tt/2DTx1ed are the snare wires I purchased. Andoer Steel Snare Wire 30 Strand. I cut then in half and am using only one half: http://ift.tt/2nwchxW just can't find a combination of position, angle, distance from the playing surface that gives me a sound I like. I would like to have a little snare sound when I hit the bass note, even when I am playing from the fingertips. Problem is I also get this annoying buzzing noise after the initial hit. You can hear it (more clearly at the end) on the linked video. The only way to eliminate that noise is to make the bass sound dry (whithout snare sound) which also makes it impossible to produce the snare sound when playing from fingertips: I have to hit harder with whole hand.I also tried to tape the tips of the snare wires, which seems to help, but also kiils the snare sound I want.Any one has advice for me?EDIT: More info: Cajon is 12" x 12" x 18", made from 1/2" baltic birch plywood. Tapa is 1/8" baltic birch plywood (3-ply). Sound hole is 4" diameter, center is 6 1/2" from the top. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2DTx2yN
