Last night I checked both LYFT and UBER and choose the cheaper of the two services. I opted for a regular LYFT, I was one person but wanted to give the driver a bit more money for his efforts (I've found they tend to not like pools/lines but are forced to take them). So imagine my surprise when I arrive and the number I saw was not the number I was quoted despite hitting no unusal traffic. I still provide the original tip amount and figure i'll work it out with LYFT later. But LYFT reports that the ride was longer than expected accounting for the difference. I already tried to dispute the overcharge and they won't budge.

It was a long ride so the overcharge of 30% is significant. Had I chosen Line my cost would have been 1/2 of what I was ultimately charged. But I wanted to make the driver happy so I took an option that was a few dollars more.
