Wanted to know this since I have come to realize my own upbringing was quite flawed. Parents never really talked about finances much, when I brought this up to them recently about why they didn't teach me some things like managing investments like 401k or IRAs they said it was because they never really had too much money to care about that 9r something until they recently (after I moved out) opened their own business. Growing up they always emphasized saving money which is good, except I have come to find while they are saving cash every month they are still paying mortgage payments on their home, 25+ years after they bought it. Lastly, and this advice is severely messing with my brother's credit history now, they spoke of credit and credit card usage as being a horrible, bad thing and emphasized not really using them at all. I didn't take thus advice and signed up for a student card when I turned 18 and slowly built up my credit in college, while my brother didn't and now at 27 has a hard time applying fo4 jobs due to his short or lack of credit history.
Really don't want to run into this bad or lacking education iwith my boys, is there anything out there which has tips or suggesting financial responsibility as they grow up? Or which is the best?
