TL;DR: Don't trust the reviews you read on this subreddit, they can be shilled. Davek makes low quality umbrellas. Buy a raincoat.
This subreddit usually recommends buying a raincoat over an umbrella when it comes to staying dry. It seems like regardless of the brand, price, or material, umbrellas are simply subject to too much force to live up to the "buy it for life" standards.
But I really wanted a BIFL umbrella. I read a LOT of threads here and took the bait from obvious shills like u/UmbrellasNYC. What I got from Davek was an incredibly overpriced piece of Chinese garbage.
I should have been more thorough. There are a bunch of people complaining about their umbrellas getting holes in the top or flipping over even in low wind!
They pulled their listings off Amazon because of bad reviews, they charge $25+ to return a tiny umbrella, and if you use the umbrella even once, they won't let you return it at all, it's a joke!
Be careful when you're reading reviews on here, and make sure you confirm with Amazon. Don't search Amazon by their search bar because if the item was removed for bad reviews like Davek, you won't be able to find it. Instead, search via Google.
