I'm new to looking for quality, frugal clothing and noticed that pants aren't covered in the sidebar links so I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm looking for good quality pants for work since I might not get away with wearing jeans and a t-shirt forever. Its usually a desk job but also includes working in labs that are typically very dirty so stain resistant material (or colors) is a plus.

Are their certain stores I should go to? I don't have many options where I'm at but all the pants I've seen here look and feel to be very flimsy cheap material.

Am I just not good at determining what is good material since I'm so used to jeans? My male coworkers were talking about pants the other day and it seems like they don't have any problem finding good quality. I thought asking to feel up their hemlines would be a little too weird so I don't know if that is actually true.
