Hi all, I am at wits end and looking for some advice. I'm currently building a sink for my photographic darkroom (which is more of a splash sink than a water holding sink). The problem has come when I've gone to pour a layer or polyester resin on the base and slightly about 150mm up the walls. Prior to pouring I had put 2 coats of a water based gloss varnish on the walls and had just done a third but got impatient and started pouring resin when the varnish was still slightly wet. after 30hrs the resin that was on the base had cured but the resin that overlapped the varnish was still tacky. I then took to the tacky areas and scraped as much off as I could with a hair dryer and paint scraper. I've just poured another layer of resin just on the base and once again (8hrs later) the resin has cured in the middle but remained tacky in the corners. I will leave to set for another day before I go at it again but would anyone have any idea why this has happened again and a possible remedy? I've read that giving it a coat of a varnish could block the oxygen and harden it, another coat of the poly resin or a coat of epoxy resin could cure over it. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2Flax1J
