Edit: some context.

I’ll be moving to England next month for an internship. The host company arranged the accommodation, which I will share with another intern who is there the same period as me. We are going to live together, go to work together, go home together. It would be weird to cook separately and shared groceries seems like a logical thing to do.

Another point is travelling. The host company pays for local public transport but I plan on taking my car with me. If he drives along it would be logical to ask gas money, but if he goes by bus he wouldn’t have to pay anything. If he decides not to pay for gas money, it would be weird to let him take the bus even though we start at the same time and I go by car. Should he drive along for free then or am I suppose to say fuck you, take the bus?

Difficult situation. Haven’t met the guy yet, by the way.

Another edit: it’ll be 5 months, in a small town. I still live with my parents in my own country so I have no experience with any of this.
