Hello, I am a mid twenties male who holds a bachelors degree in business administration, last year I began working as a loan officer for a mortgage lender, it is my first professional “business” position, and I took it largely to get my foot in the door and get some post grad experience. I’m considering completing an online MBA over the next year or two, maybe with WGU, as I like the technical aspect of mortgages but don’t enjoy sales. The program would cost approximately 8k, my question is would it be worth it? Does an online MBA coupled with a couple of years of experience in finance open a lot of doors? I ultimately would like to work more as a business analyst or project manager, as I stated, I took a position as a loan officer to strengthen my resume and gain experience, and because the company was willing to pay my certifications contingent on staying with them at least a year. Thoughts?
Edit: I have no student loans, but finances would be tight, about 1200 In cc debt I’m paying off from relocating, could cover the cost largely out of pocket, and have a 401 I I contribute 10% pretax to
Edit: so the answer I seem to be getting is an MBA this soon after my bachelors wouldn’t mean much and I’m better saving my money. Makes sense. Is there any programs or certifications that would be a better alternative you would recommend, seems like PMC certification once I have some more experience. Any others? I really appreciate the feedback guys!
