Hi, my freedompop modem with 500mb free a month got stolen, but I don't miss it since it was SLOW as heck.
I tried using my phone as a hotspot, and the speed is good, BUT I gotta pay $10 per 1 GB(tracfone.com), so on just checking stuff like crypto currency exchanges(with their live updating numbers), surfing websites with few images, emails, and chats like google hangouts, and talked over whatsapp maybe 3 or 4 times during that period with conversations being no longer than 5 to 8 minutes(how much does whatsapp eat up?)it ran out in about 5 hours of total use over 2 days! Didn't even download anything or even watch or stream any vids.
Then I saw a Xfinity wifi hotspot on the list of modems, tried it out, and the free 1 hour had decent speeds, not as fast as the tracfone 1 GB pay as you go.
Then as soon as I payed $18 for 1 week of of Xfinity wifi, the connection got REALLY slow, to the point that button type links don't work at all. I did download about 500 mb worth of files and programs as soon as I got it since I needed to install several programs for offline use, so I don't know if thats what caused it to permanently slow down?
Anyways, what's a good internet service that is $20 to $30 a month? Just internet, no cable or any extras, there was a local shop that was selling plans, but they forcibly include cable, utter garbage, where can I go for most efficient internet with good speeds that isn't $70 a month or $10 per GB?
