I've searched this thread before and found similar posts regarding how much people spend on food each week. However, no one seems to spend as much as I do on food (~$300/week on just myself). In fact, I've seen quite a few people shame others for spending over $150/week on themselves.
My partner and I have grown up very differently as I have come from a quite wealthy family who had everything done for them (including personal chefs and constantly eating out at nice restaurants) - while my partners family were never able to afford these luxuries.
Because of the lifestyle I grew up with, I find it very difficult to eat from home. Whenever I am hungry, I spend an upwards of $30 on each meal. It's just habit - and I find preparing my own food a very, very tedious task.
My partner finds this challenging as we are now in the stage of our relationship where we are saving together, and he feels I am holding us from reaching our goals, both together and separately.
I want to know if anyone has any suggestions on how to make eating from home (for cheaper) and achievable, sustainable task?
TLDR: Grew up in a rich family... now finding it difficult to break out of my habit of spending $300 a week on food. Any tips on making it achievable?
