My mother is in her 60s and she has no plans to retire soon. Her portfolio is heavy on stocks which makes me concerned. I'm wondering how to rebalance her portfolio with safer investments.
- What options are available for safer investments other than bonds and CDs?
- To rebalance with bonds, is it better to sell stock and buy bonds or simply buy bonds?
- Which account is best for bonds? IRA, Roth, 403b, or regular brokerage?
FYI she also has .5m in savings which we're not sure what to do with. Possibly open a reg account and buy bonds through there?
