Next month I'll be traveling to the West Coast for a short work trip. So, free plane ticket and a few days in a hotel. I'm considering extending the trip by a few days to explore the city and rest/relax away from home. Also might see some extended family that live nearby. But I will need to pay out of pocket for expenses for the extra time. Maybe 200/night for lodging and <15/day for food. But I'm finding it hard to justify the expense since its not an essential expense and I'm trying to live more frugally. Do you all allow yourselves to spend on things like this? How do you justify it within your frugal lifestyles?
