I've been doing craft painting with metal powders suspended in a clear enamel. This has been great with aluminum powder, which doesn't oxidize easily--but brass flake-based paint turns from a bright gold color to a dull brown in a few months.I don't know if the enamel is not protecting the powder enough from the air or is itself reacting to the metal. I asked the metal flake manufacturers and they suggested I try laquer. I wanted to get a second opinion, especially since laquer is less resilient than enamel and the application (dice) requires durability. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2npV35r
