This might be a really dumb question, but why would this post be metal? Am I missing something, is it possible that its not actually metal and its wood covered with something or it is part of the drywall? My wife and I want to take down that wall and put our washer and dryer side by side, but we noticed some paint peeling and I took a look and it appears to be metal. It is a 1x4 vertical post, and being only a foot away from the outside wall, it seems unlikely that it would be load bearing. The rest of the wall we want to take down is hollow.http://ift.tt/2CKhWLa for the crappy images, the camera on my phone has cracked.Edit: As /u/constantino2 and /u/King_Kev pointed out it is a corner bead. I went and peeled back more paint and found that it was indeed that. I'll be sure to post some finished pics as we are going to be adding a table top and some shelves/cabinets. Thanks again! via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2AwkWVM
