Two years ago, I brought a new modern "leather" sofa from wayfair for $1700. About an year ago, the sofa started to crack and peel. I quote the "leather" part, because a) I am pretty sure it wasn't leather b) if it is leather, it was paper thin.
I called around some upholstery places and the quote for replacing all of the cushions will end up costing more than the sofa itself. I really like the way the sofa looks so I am trying to see if there is more cost effective options.
To make things more complicated, because the sofa was cheaply manufactured, the cushions are actually attached to the base. As in no way to just peel off the cushions and get them replaced.
