So, I have an enormous basement that I desperately want to finish, but have a few (well, more than a few) questions. 1. What is the best design software available that I can use (buy) to get an idea of what I want to do? 2. What is the best tactic for dealing with air intakes/vents? Leave, paint, hide? 3. Best idea on creating an escape window/door? Another exit in event of emergency. 4. Drop ceiling or drywall (I am in New York State so moisture is a concern)? 5. Lastly, any books or websites that provide the best approach for tackling this enormous project? Where should I start, what should be done last, etc?
